Manthorpe Achieves Zero Waste with Titan Resource

Manthorpe Building Products has awarded a three-year waste management contract to Titan Resource for their manufacturing facility in Ripley, Derbyshire.

Titan was appointed to handle all waste removal requirements for the site helping the company achieve quantifiable cost efficiencies and move quickly towards zero waste.  Within the first six weeks of the new contract the target of zero waste to landfill was achieved.

The contract sees Manthorpe work in partnership with Titan to increase recycling and awareness on site, optimising recycling and service capabilities through the management of specific activities monitored by a dedicated account manager who acts as a single point of contact for the in-house team.

Steve Wakelin, Operations Director, Manthorpe Building Products, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Titan Resource, the impact our business has on the environment is extremely important to us and so it was imperative that we work with a supplier who would help implement our ambition to achieve zero waste to landfill and support a circular model by recovering renewable energy from non-hazardous waste collected through our business operations.”

Tracey Payne, Director at Titan Resource said: ““Our contract with Manthorpe Building Products further demonstrates Titan’s ability to work in partnership with large manufacturing organisations with our innovative waste management solutions underpinning our philosophy that waste can be used as a resource and not simply an unavoidable cost to your business.”
